Just out of curiosity

Is Lucid going to be the future name of PD? I saw it on some post in the forum. I googled for it but all I got was mostly junk stuff (lucid dreaming yeah!)

Really just out of curiosity! What is Lucid otherwise?

Sharp! I really like it.

Sharp! I really like it.

And as I've said in another post, I'm am getting all psyched up (no pun intended,... well maybe a bit ;) about using your system for my new app.

I'll probably bog you down with questions but later on, when I feel more at ease with dojo and Lucid and get some experience with them, I kind of have the idea of offering to help you, possibly with documentation first, automated tests later (backend first, I use simpletest).

Our APIs are quite

Our APIs are quite structured like Dojo's, so Lucid+Dojo development should be easy.
If you wish to ask questions later on, feel free, we'd be more than happy to help.

Thanks Jay, I'll be sure to

Thanks Jay,

I'll be sure to do that. I just got Lucid running. I'm gonna go play with it a bit and try to start my own app in there somewhere.

If I may ask, how many dev are there on this project?

I'm a core contributor, and

I'm a core contributor, and Jay contributes some things occasionally. He used to be much more active when we were starting out though. We've got two theme designers, Steven and David.

Here's the application tutorial that you can get started with: http://www.psychdesktop.net/docs/dev/intro/application-tutorial.html

Some things are still undocumented, but most of the ones you need to write an app are there. All the modules have inline documentation comments, so you can just look at the source. Here's an example: http://bugs.psychdesktop.net/browser/branches/1.0/desktop/dojotoolkit/desktop/dialog.js

And as Jay said, feel free to ask questions.

hehe already read the

hehe already read the tutorial.

And for the questions, already done it in the help forum. Told you I would bog you down!!

OK psychcf, I'll setup my

OK psychcf, I'll setup my stuff here accordingly.

By the way, I do like this name. Where is it coming from?

Well, when we were

Well, when we were brainstorming some things, someone brought up "fluid". The problem with it was that there were two other projects with the same name; a usability project, and an OSX application. So, I looked at some words that looked similar, and suggested "lucid". Everyone seemed to like it, and I couldn't find any projects that shared the same name, so it stuck.

I'm glad you like it, I just wish our designer would work faster :P

Yeah, Lucid will be the new

Yeah, Lucid will be the new name of PD once the new site is finished. We've got http://lucid-desktop.org/ as our new domain name, but we've got to put something up still. I'm probably going to put up a blurb tonight to be a placeholder until the new site design is done.

The new name is also being used on http://www.dojofoundation.org/, but the logo may be different. The person who's doing the redesign hasn't told me.
